While poking around for an alternative to Inkscape (as I've discovered it runs horribly on my new Mac) I decided to take advantage of a Steam sale and try out Hexels at long last. While Affinity Designer is definitely the better vector art program, I find Hexels extremely intriguing. Pixel art is something I'd certainly like to do more of moving forward.
This image is like my Cornell Box or bowl of wax fruit, a litmus test I put different art programs through. It gives me an immediate project right off the bat to work through and force myself to learn the tools. The creature is always a little different, but it's always crawling across a checkered floor and out of a box with the lid tossed aside.
